Bprov Says. . .

Tobymac's debut album post DC Talk, Mr. McKeehan went back to the sounds that started DC Talk with the same flavor of the track Jesus Freak. However the sound is not as diverse as apposed to some of later works. Alot of the songs have the same rapcore flavor. When they break the mold those are usually his best. "Irene" is more of a latin mix. (Think No Doubt's "Don't Speak.") TobyMac samples (and/or covers) songs such as Somebody's Watching and rerecords a sample on What's Going Down. "Momentum" the strongest of the rapcore songs. If you like the rapcore tracks than this is for you but remember that alot of them sound very similar. If you want more of a varied mix go for the Remixed version of this album. But really there is something for everyone in his catalogue so feel free to explore the works of Tobymac.

All I can say is, when I first heard TobyMac, I wasn't quite sure what to think, and to be honest I didn't like it that much. But after hearing a couple more of his songs, I decided to check his CD out. I went to the mall, bought it, put in the cd player... and now look at me!
