The first time I heard Made To Love it was love at first . . . sound. Every time I turned on the radio, all I wanted to hear was Made To Love. Soon my Mom bought the Portable Sounds album for me and from that moment on, I was hooked on Toby's music! Soon I was collecting all the rest of the albums and now I've got 'em all! This is probably one of Toby's best albums yet, although they're all totally awesome! Toby says that most all the songs on Portable Sounds are really prayers and stuff from his prayer journal. And every song is a testimony of his love and dedication to God and a reflection of his desire to serve Him with all of his heart.

We both agree that this cd is a great edition to any collection whether you're a fan or not. Issa thinks that Ignition is the best, while kc is debating between One World and No Ordinary love. The whole cd is great though and certainly worth the money. We think that whether you're a loyal fan, a casual listener, or just a plain music lover thanthis cd is certainly worth checking into. High ratings from both of us.

In a quick follow up to his second album, Welcome to Diverse City, Toby "Mac" McKeehan released Portable Sounds. PS, unlike WTDC, is more focused on one genre: pop-hip-hop, as apposed to WTDC all the songs stay in the pop realm of things which is dissapointing to those of us who want the rock n roll DC Talk was so famous for. While this is an above average album. It is still outdone by the great 'Diverse City' that came before it. If you don't yet own anything from Toby. Start out with WTDC. It is more musically diverse from song to song. PS is still worth a listen, of course. The best song on the disc is the collaboration with Kirk Franklin and Mandisa. If you are new to Toby start with WTDC, then explore the other fine sounds Mr. McKeehan and his band have put out. There is something for everyone in his catalogue. It is just a matter of finding what genre you like the best. Whatever it is, Toby has a song for you!

Yea, this album weirded me out just like when I first listened to Diverse City. But after going through the album several times and really thinking over the lyrics, I found that this album is really serious. His sound has changed, but he's maintained the Jesus Freak approach.

Best song? I voted for Made To Love. I think that's really the main anthem on the album, sort of like what Burn For You is on Diverse City. Several of the other tracks reinforce the song as well and delve into deeper questions, such as Face of the Earth, No Ordinary Love, All In, Feelin' So Fly, and of course Lose My Soul.

I will say when I heard Ignition, all I thought was, "Toby, what are you trying to do?" I was hoping to hear something along the lines of Extreme Days, or The Slam, but that wasn't the case at all. But Ignition actually has a very profound message underneath. There's several ways to take it, but I think Toby is pretty bold in saying what he does in this track.

Overall, I'm already anticipating the remix album.

I pre-bought this cd like 2 weeks before it came out. As you can tell I was really anticipating this release from Toby. I think he did a really great job with all of his song. In this album he really mixed it up. All of the songs are original, some more than others. "Made To Love" is a little too pop for me, but it's message is still very wonderful. My favorite track off this album would have to be the last one with Kirk Frankin. The song gave me chills the first time I listend to it. "Loose My Soul" is the name of that song. If you take a deeper look into the lyrics you'll find yourself singing right along and agreeing with it's message. So if you haven't picked this one up yet..what are you waiting for? It's worth the money. I've seen it advertized for $12.99 which isn't bad at all. You'll not be disapointed.

"Boomin'" was the song that I like best. I don't really listen to much rock, and my aunt described the song as 'Heave Metal'...hey, it it's Toby, who cares?! "Lose My Soul" is the next best; it really talks about the pressure, not only a music artist confronts, but the pressure that everyone faces in everyday life. The pressure to fit in and do what other people expect; I think the song is almost like Shawn Macdonald's "Free" (Another great song). "Ignition" is another 'Heavy Metal song, and another great song.
